Adicom certified for advanced CDMA in China

Adicom Wireless Inc., a Silicon Valley-based provider of wireless access equipment, said it received technical certification of its advanced Code Division Multiple Access technology with the Chinese Radio Regulatory Directorate.

The wireless local loop technology, known as A-CDMA, allows service providers to place high-speed data and voice channels side by side and provides data speeds of up to 128 kilobits per second.

“This is patented to Adicom and allows the users of systems and products to negotiate the bit rate they use as well as quality of service they require,” said Adicom Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Adel Ghanem. “It’s a very cost-effective solution at par with and often better than extending cable to end users.”

Ghanem said his company has several partnerships in China that include well-known names like Ericsson China and local telecom companies like Great Dragon Telecom.

“So far we are in testing phases in China with several service providers and partners,” said Ghanem. “We are happy to report that our system has been tested and integrated with a large number of switches in China … We are working aggressively with distribution and marketing partners to grab more and more market share. We are pursuing very large opportunities in China with our partners.”
