Centigram initiative intended to spark wireless Internet

SAN JOSE, Calif.-Centigram Communications Corp., a provider of unified communications and Wireless Application Protocol-based messaging solutions, embarked on a strategic initiative to spur the development of the wireless Internet.

The initiative involves the company working with global service providers and network infrastructure companies to develop and deploy what it calls, true anytime, anywhere, any device communications.

“The wireless Internet is rapidly taking shape, and we are determined to solidify our role in this exciting new industry,” said Bob Puette, president and chief executive officer of Centigram. “Working closely with our partners, we are committed to delivering powerful applications that subscribers will embrace for their usefulness and simplicity.”

As part of its initiative, Centigram said it is working with Nortel Networks Corp. to integrate its unified communications products with Nortel’s e-mobility wireless platform. Centigram also has commenced market trials of its Internet Call Manager, the most recent addition to its product line.
