MURRAY HILL, N.J.-Lucent Technologies Inc. said it will acquire Chromatis Networks, a manufacturer of optical networking systems, for 78 million shares of Lucent common stock, which is valued at about $4.5 billion based on the closing price of $58.13 on May 30.
The acquisition is expected to be completed June 30.
