Motorola
Motorola Inc. launched unique software engineered to expand the application and utility of its iDENplus Series handsets. The iDEN Organizer is a personal computer-based software application used to program call lists into iDENplus portables from the user’s PC. Motorola noted that the new software is compatible with Microsoft Windows and i500plus, i700plus and i1000plus models. Motorola also introduced new mobile radios designed for the transportation, utility and construction industries where instant communications with drivers, crews and personnel are important. The new CDM Series includes several models-CDM750, CDM1250 and CDM 1550-incorporating features exclusive to two-way radios, such as the talk-group capability allowing communications exclusively with designated groups of workers and discreet emergency signaling. In addition the CDM 1550 operates on any UHF LTR trunking system, giving users a wider calling area, faster channel access and greater privacy, according to Motorola. (800) 422-4210.
Cambridge Silicon Radio
Cambridge Silicon Radio unveiled BlueCore, a test kit for Bluetooth that enables developer of the wireless technology to run tests on a personal computer using Micorsoft’s Windows operating systems. The kit provides a fully compliant Bluetooth system for data and voice communications including BlueCore 01 IC Flash Memory, a crystal reference and antenna. In addition, the kit works with optional software tools allowing Bluetooth host applications to be developed for the PC and other target platforms. It can be linked with development tools for creating Bluetooth embedded systems on CSR’s own BlueCore IP and is interoperable with Ericsson and Digianswer evaluation kits. (+44) 122-342-4167.
Agilent Technologies
Agilent Technologies Inc. introduced three state- and timing-analysis modules for its 16700 series of logic analyzers, allowing engineers to capture data on buses operating at clock speeds up to 400 MHz and also provide up to 32 megabits of memory depth and 2 GHz timing analysis on all channels. The new modules support Agilent’s “eye-finder” technology, which automatically adjusts the setup and hold window on each logic analyzer channel for optimal data capture, according to Agilent.
