HACKENSACK, N.J.-GoAmerica Inc. announced it has agreed to acquire Wynd Communications Corp., a provider of wireless messaging solutions for the deaf and hard of hearing.
GoAmerica in particular named Wynd’s wireless instant messaging technology as a desired element for its Go.Web service. The agreement calls for GoAmerica to issue about 3.9 million shares of common stock, equal to 7 percent of the company, to Wynd shareholders. The deal, based on Monday’s stock price of $10.25 per share, is valued at $40.7 million.
