HORSHAM, Pa.-Motorola Inc.’s Broadband Communications Sector announced it is acquiring Zenith Electronics Corp.’s Network Systems division, which Motorola plans to integrate into its Satellite and Broadcast Network Systems business unit.
Zenith Network Systems is a supplier of satellite receivers globally and multichannel multipoint distribution system receivers/decoders in the United States.
Motorola said the acquisition will strengthen its digital satellite business by expanding its product lines and customer base, particularly in the international marketplace.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition is expected to close during the third quarter.
