LAKE CHARLES, La.-Sprint PCS Network Partner US Unwired Inc. launched personal communications service in nine southeast markets, including Anniston, Mobile and five counties in the Birmingham, Ala., area; Hot Springs and four counties in the Little Rock, Ark., area; Jackson, Meridian and Vicksburg, Miss.; and Jackson County, Fla.
“Our expansion program remains on-schedule and on-budget as we continue to execute our business strategy to provide seamless coverage in our territory and bridge established Sprint PCS markets,” said Robert Piper, chief executive officer of US Unwired. “We remain confident that we will meet our goal of expanding our network coverage to 6.1 million total residents by the end of the year.”
