OWINGS MILLS, Md.-Aether Systems Inc. said it will help Micros Systems Inc. wirelessly enable its information technology solutions for the hospitality industry.
The two first plan to create applications allowing consumers to pay tabs at restaurants and ballparks from wireless devices like phones, pagers and personal digital assistants. They also plan to develop a wireless area network product allowing managers to use wireless devices to monitor and manage staff and equipment.
Aether said it will add these products to its mobile wallet suite of commerce applications. Pilot programs are expected as a result of this partnership in the fourth quarter.
