Study finds more than half of teens use a cell phone

SAN JOSE, Calif.-Fifty-five percent of teen-agers use a cell phone, and 86 percent of them began using their cell phone by the time they were 16 years old, according to a survey conducted by the Teen Advisory Board of mobile entertainment services provider MobileEngines.The survey, involving 73 people between the ages of 10 and 21, also found that 83 percent of parents pay for their teen’s cell-phone bill.”The results of this survey illustrate that teens really are mobile and are leading the new mobile revolution,” explained Patrick Boyle, co-founder and chief executive officer of MobileEngines.
