DUBLIN, Ireland-Ireland’s telecom regulator said it will issue one 15-year national TETRA license through a comparative selection tender.
“The introduction of public access mobile radio TETRA services in Ireland has the potential to create further choice and diversity for users of business mobile communications,” Etain Doyle, telecom regulator said. “Key factors in determining the successful applicant will be a commitment to increasing competition in the mobile communications market, an ability to roll out a high-quality national TETRA network with 80-percent coverage after two years and offers of performance guarantees.”
Tender documentation will be available shortly, the regulator said.
