GoAmerica partners with Dell Computer

HACKENSACK, N.J.-Wireless Internet service provider GoAmerica Inc. signed an agreement with Dell Computer Corp. that allows Dell to sell GoAmerica’s range of wireless Internet and communications products and services through its Dellware line of third-party software, peripherals and accessories.

The agreement will give Dell customers the option of purchasing a new mobile device with GoAmerica’s Go.Web service or purchase the service to complement existing devices.

In conjunction with the agreement, GoAmerica said it will issue warrants in the company to Dell.

Subscriber increase

GoAmerica Inc. also posted results for the second quarter ended June 30, its first quarter as a public company, showing a 376-percent increase in subscribers compared with the second quarter of 1999 and a 57-percent increase from the first quarter of 2000.

The results show GoAmerica had 13,633 subscribers at the end of the second quarter this year, compared with 8,698 at the end of the first quarter, and 2,866 subscribers at the end of second-quarter 1999.

The company also posted revenues of $2 million for the second quarter of 2000, compared with revenues of $514,386 for the same period last year. Net loss attributed to shareholders also increased from $1.9 million, or 9 cents per share, for the second quarter last year, to a loss of $14.9 million, or 34 cents per share, for the second quarter this year.

GoAmerica reported an increase in average monthly revenue per customer from $30.98 for the second quarter of 1999 to $38.45 per subscriber this year.

“During the second quarter we made solid progress in executing upon our business plan,” explained Aaron Dubrinsky, president and chief executive officer of GoAmerica. “We expect to see accelerated subscriber growth in late 2000 and into early 2001 as a result of some of our recently announced relationships.”
