ALEXANDRIA, Va.-Metrocall Inc. reported second-quarter financial results with a net loss of $40.2 million, or 51 cents per share, compared with a net loss of $44.7 million, or $1.17 per share, reported for the second quarter of last year. Net revenues were $131.3 million and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization was $30 million. The company also added 113,747 subscribers, bringing its total base to 6.1 million.
Metrocall also expanded its CampusLink promotion targeting incoming college students by providing two-way interactive pagers to 700 freshmen at the Colorado School of Mines. The program combines the Motorola Inc. T900 units with Metrocall’s My2Way service.
