FRANKFURT, Germany-Due to its pending acquisition of VoiceStream Wireless Corp., Germany’s Deutsche Telekom has delayed the planned initial public offering of its mobile arm, T-Mobil. The IPO initially was set for the fourth quarter, and the company did not give a new time frame for the listing.
International press reports said the VoiceStream acquisition had made preparing the listing prospectus for T-Mobil “considerably more complex.”
The mobile subsidiary includes Deutsche Telekom’s mobile operations in Germany, Austria, the United Kingdom and Eastern Europe. The carrier had planned to use funds raised from the IPO for third-generation acquisitions, networks and licenses.
Deutsche Telekom listed its Internet arm, T-Online, in April.
