LONDON-Yahoo! Europe announced two new wireless partnerships this week, including one with a handset manufacturer and one with a mobile operator.
Yahoo! Europe and Trium, a Mitsubishi subsidiary, said Yahoo! will provide a range of content and services to Trium’s WAP-enabled mobile phones. The handsets have been coded to give users easy access to content from Yahoo!
The WAP services initially will be available in the United Kingdom, followed by local-language versions in Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Denmark and Norway. Asia rollouts will follow.
In addition, Yahoo! Spain and Telefonica Moviles Espana signed an agreement for Yahoo! Spain’s range of WAP content and services to be featured on Telefonica Moviles’ e-mocion Internet access service.
Under the agreement, a link to Yahoo! Spain’s mobile services will be the first featured link in the portal directory of e-mocion. E-mocion offers access to more than 80 content providers and portals and to a range of WAP services.
