MURRAY HILL, N.J.-Lucent Technologies Inc. signed a $15 million contract with U.S. Cellular Corp. to supply wireless intelligent networking hardware and software for the rapid deployment and delivery of enhanced services to U.S. Cellular’s mobile customers.
Under the contract, Lucent is providing its Stand-Alone Home Location Register/Authentication Center for roaming features; mated pairs of Service Control Points for service reliability; its Service Management System for improved network management and Lucent’s Service Creation Environment for development of custom network services.
In addition, U.S. Cellular will deploy Lucent’s Service Control Point, a database server that centralizes service logic and helps ensure the delivery of services, to provide operation, administration, maintenance and provisioning capabilities for the enhanced services on its network.
