BURLINGTON, Mass.-Daedalus Venture Group L.L.C. formally launched last week, offering venture research and advisory services for the private equity community focused specifically on the communications technology market.
“We are extremely focused-covering one sector, the emerging communication technology sector, and tailoring our coverage to the unique needs of the private equity community,” said Adam Needles, co-founder and principal of the group. Specifically, he said Daedalus will analyze formerly separate vertical segments like computing and telecom to track their convergence.
“Our goal is to spotlight innovative technologies, trends and companies that are two to five years ahead of the marketplace,” said Doug Ingram, also co-founder and principal.
The group said it plans to announce several partnerships in upcoming months designed to help it better cover the sector. Specific markets include wireless and satellite communication operators and technology providers, component communication equipment manufacturers and software developers.
