Conductus names Korean sales rep

SUNNYVALE, Calif.-Conductus Inc. named Microwave International Inc. as the exclusive sales representative for its ClearSite superconducting wireless systems in Korea.

Microwave International currently markets multitone, ultra-linear CDMA amplifiers as well as TRS systems used by SK Telecom and Korea Freetel in their networks.

“This further expansion into Korea reflects our belief that Korea, with its standardization on CDMA technology and large subscriber base, offers an attractive market opportunity for our products,” said Charles Shalvoy, president and chief executive officer of Conductus. “Specifically we believe that our ClearSite systems have the potential to provide a solution to several quality of service problems, including the interference problem cellular carriers are facing in Korea as a result of its high population density and the numerous wireless companies competing in the same market.”
