SAN ANTONIO-SBC Communications Inc. and Lucent Technologies Inc. entered a five-year, $1 billion agreement for Lucent to be the primary provider of data, voice and access infrastructure for SBC’s national network expansion, the companies announced. The contract covers SBC’s nationwide entry into 30 markets outside its traditional service areas.
