SANTA CLARA, Calif.-AvidWireless released AvidRapidTools, a Java server and set of reusable Java beans that require developers to only use one source code to display across all wireless devices. It also works with multiple formats, including WAP, iMode and compact HTML, the company said.
“AvidRapidTools allows the average IT shop, which understands their customer’s needs but not necessarily wireless or Java, to rapidly produce quality applications which work on almost every mobile device,” said Rodney Montrose, founder and president of AvidWireless.
The full version of AvidRapidTools costs $5,000 for a single server license. A developer edition also is available for $500.
