HELSINKI, Finland-Nokia and KG Telecom agreed to cooperate on the development of third-generation (3G) mobile networks and applications. The memorandum of understanding includes cooperation on the definition and creation of 3G and mobile Internet Protocol services.
The companies will also work together on network technology development to prepare for the introduction of standards-compliant 3G services in KG Telecom’s network. The companies will establish a service center to develop applications, and Nokia will supply a 3G experimental system allowing KG Telecom evaluate, test and demonstrate end-to-end mobile multimedia applications.
In September, KG Telecom launched its General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) network supplied by Nokia.
