SINGAPORE-StarHub announced it will invest another US$58.8 million to enhance its Singapore mobile network during the next few months. This will bring its investment in the network to US$232 million.
The added investment will allow StarHub to increase its capacity to handle approximately 300,000 customers by March 2001. A StarHub spokesman said the carrier anticipates exceeding its first-year target of 200,000 customers.
Presently, the island state’s newest mobile carrier, which launched service in April, has signed up more than 100,000 mobile subscribers. Some of the new investment will go toward doubling its WAP service capacity to 50,000 users.
