Aether expands focus, management team

OWINGS MILLS, Md.-After Aether Systems Inc.’s flurry of acquisitions, partnerships and investments, the company announced it will expand its corporate focus and senior management team.

The company defined three new core business segments: vertical markets, software products and wireless services. It also promoted George Davis, Aether’s chief operating officer, to president and vice chairman of the company.

Mike Mancuso will head up the vertical markets segment as executive vice president. He will oversee the day-to-day operations of the company’s health care financial services, transportation and logistics and merchant notification systems. Mancuso was previously the president and chief operating officer of Cerulean Technology, which was acquired by Aether in September.

Larry Roshfeld will lead the software products segment, where he will create and set industry trends, support integrated platform technology and capture market share. Roshfeld was previously the senior vice president of products for Aether Software.

Tom Lupica will be the wireless services senior vice president. He was previously Aether’s vice president of operations.
