DURHAM, N.C.-Pinpoint Inc., founded last year by then high-school students Jud Bowman and Taylor Brockman, unleashed its Search Anywhere unified search and navigation platform, designed to provide access to information from the wired and wireless Internet.
The platform is designed to enable portals, telecommunications carriers and enterprises to provide a consistent search experience to users accessing the Web through Internet-capable devices.
Highlights of the platform include cross-platform support for a range of devices including personal computers, mobile phones, pagers and personal digital assistants, as well as a location-based search and navigation service for mobile users.
“We understand that the time and location pieces of the wireless proposition are an integral component of a complete wireless product offering,” said Dov Cohn, senior product manager of Pinpoint. “Our wireless Search and Directory Engine enables powerful access to information anytime, anywhere.”
Pinpoint also noted that Search Anywhere includes proprietary language detection technology enabling users to search the Web in a variety of languages. The platform currently supports English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Norwegian, Danish and Finnish.
