SAN DIEGO-Leap Wireless International Inc. added 127,500 users to its Cricket wireless service during the fourth quarter, bringing its total customer base to more than 190,000 in 10 markets.
“We are pleased with the popularity of our Cricket service, especially in light of the extremely adverse weather conditions we overcame in a number of markets to launch on time,” explained Susan Swenson, president and chief operating officer of Leap. “We remain comfortable with the guidance we previously announced at the end of the third quarter concerning our expectations for the operational and financial performance of Cricket markets, and we continue to expect to reach approximately 1 million subscribers by the end of 2001.”
