MONTREAL-Telesystem International Wireless Inc. added 878,300 cellular subscribers during the fourth quarter of 2000, a 49-percent increase compared with the 589,500 net additions during the same quarter in 1999, bringing its customer base to 4.4 million subscribers.
“The growth in cellular subscribers demonstrates solid execution by TIW’s operating subsidiaries and affiliates in their respective markets, and provides a strong base for further market expansion,” said Bruno Ducharme, president and chief executive officer of TIW.
