Sierra Wireless has announced the addition of Microsoft Corp. to the WirelessReady Alliance. Alliance members, including wireless device manufacturers, software application vendors, and wireless and value-added enterprise service providers, work together to deliver wireless data solutions to the mobile computing market. “As a global leader in software and mobile computing technology, Microsoft is an extremely valuable addition to the WirelessReady Alliance,” said Andrew Harries, senior vice president of corporate development for Sierra Wireless.

Vox2 Inc.’s Vox.Link, a wireless device that connects a cell phone to standard phones, is now being featured for sale in AT&T Wireless Services Inc.’s current monthly billing inserts, mailed to most AT&T Wireless subscribers. Vox.Link plugs into a phone jack, allowing wireless calls to be placed and answered on a standard wireline phone while charging the cell phone battery. The device works with most Nokia, Motorola and Ericsson wireless phones.

Microcell Telecommunications Inc.’s subsidiary, i5 will acquire licensing rights to use and resell Netsanity Inc.’s Preference Management Engine software. The move is part of i5’s efforts to develop a carrier-grade portal platform and wireless solutions to help network operators quickly market Internet services.

WebLink Wireless Inc. announced three more companies joined its Enterprise Solution Partner program, which works to expand the uses of WebLink’s two-way data network. Technology integrator CGAtlantic, wireless Internet company Nextair Corp. and appliance-to-business solutions provider Questra join close to 40 other members of WebLink’s program.

Professional Telecom Services, a turnkey wireless site development company, has developed a service alliance with Unefi, a company that provides of equipment installation and commissioning to wireless carriers. According to the agreement, Unefi will install base station equipment on PTS sites and PTS will develop tower sites for Unefi clients. The alliance should speed up the site development process.
