CHICAGO-Cambia Networks, a provider of open data gateway platforms for wireless service providers, has secured $11 million in funding from Benchmark Capital, Skymoon Ventures and Eagle Technology Ventures.
The company will deliver an open architecture data communications platform that connects wireless networks to IP data networks. Cambia Networks also will offer a carrier-class data gateway solution for the global CDMA and GSM markets.
To deliver a complete solution and focus on data communications software, the company plans to partner with hardware and operating system leaders.
Andrew Bezaitis, chief executive officer of the company, said, “Cambia’s solutions will ensure service providers operate more efficiently, rapidly deploy applications in succession, and save more than a year in implementation time. Our goal is to extend the power and effectiveness of wireless data communications.”
