CANNES, France-Sema, an information technology and business services company, announced Mobile E-mail, its new messaging service offering for telecom operators. The product allows operators to offer interactive Internet e-mail services, so users can choose how to send and retrieve e-mails, whether by SMS, WAP or Internet-based technologies. Sema also announced that its flagship billing product, SemaVision BSCS has been selected by e-plus, a German mobile operator, to develop and launch its planned UMTS services. Sema Telecoms’s solution will allow e-plus to launch and support its GPRS and UMTS services. “Our close partnership with Sema Telecoms and the development of SemaVision BSCS will provide us with the best solution on the market in billing and customer care to support our planned rollout of UMTS products and services,” said e-Plus’ Thorsten Dirks.
