CANNES, France-Sema, an information technology and business services company, announced Mobile E-mail, its new messaging service offering for telecom operators. The product allows operators to offer interactive Internet e-mail services, so users can choose how to send and retrieve e-mails, whether by SMS, WAP or Internet-based technologies. Jon Limbird, executive vice president of product management and marketing at Sema Telecoms, said, “We are committed to offering operators innovative services with the competitive flexibility needed to grow with Internet and mobile technologies and providing future-proof mobile solutions that put operators ahead of their competition.”

Sema also announced that its flagship billing product, SemaVision BSCS has been selected by e-plus, a German mobile operator, to develop and launch its planned UMTS services. Sema Telecoms’s solution will allow e-plus to launch and support its GPRS and UMTS services. “Our close partnership with Sema Telecoms and the development of SemaVision BSCS will provide us with the best solution on the market in billing and customer care to support our planned rollout of UMTS products and services,” said e-Plus’ Thorsten Dirks.
