YONKERS, N.Y.-AvantGo Inc., announced its new “Consumer Reports to Go” service, which offers buying advice from selected Consumer Reports on personal digital assistants.
The agreement between Consumers Union, the publisher of Consumer Reports, and AvantGo Inc. will roll out in stages. Initially, AvantGo subscribers and subscribers to www.ConsumerReports.org will be able to download the advice for no charge to PDAs.
According to AvantGo, using the mobile Consumer Reports buying information will rival most desktop-optimized Web sites and will not require any kind of special end-user setup.
