SANTA CRUZ, Calif.-Lutris Technologies Inc., an open source software and services company, said Hewlett-Packard Co. will endorse and recommend Lutris’ Enhydra 3.5 wireless application server to its HP Netserver customers running Windows 2000 or the open source-developed Linux operating system.
Enhydra runs the HP MPE/iX and HP-UX operating systems, in addition to the HP Netserver family, Lutris said.
Lutris Enhydra 3.5 allows developers to create and deliver various Java and Extensible Markup Language-based applications. The wireless version supports Hypertext Markup Language, Java 2 MicroEdition, Wireless Markup Language, compact HTML, xHTML and VoiceXML.
“This is really going to help the Netserver platform to do very high-end support for Web applications,” said David Young, chief Enhydra evangelist for Lutris.
Lutris also said it joined HP’s Mobile e-Services Bazaar, which acts as a catalyst for the creation of mobile e-services by providing an atmosphere for its approximate 400 members to incubate new ideas, strategies and technologies.
