HANNOVER, Germany-The wireless multimedia company PacketVideo Corp., and T-Mobil, which provides mobile telecommunication services in Germany, announced they will conduct trials of PacketVideo’s end-to-end wireless multimedia technology over T-Mobil’s advanced General Packet Radio Service network.
T-Mobil engineers will test PacketVideo’s interoperability with T-Mobil’s infrastructure and with handsets and personal digital assistants to be included in the trial.
`This multimedia trial is an important step toward our goal of providing customers with user-friendly applications that provide the best in mobile data services, including mobile entertainment and information,” explained Horst Rauch, director of UMTS Services Platform for T-Mobil. “We selected to trial with PacketVideo because their technology provides an end-to-end system for wireless multimedia that combines industry leading MPEG-4 open standards compliant technology with the experience of conducting many mobile multimedia consumer trials around the world.”
