OKLAHOMA CITY-Dobson Communications Corp. added approximately 90,600 gross subscribers during the first quarter of 2001, compared with 62,600 for the first quarter last year. Customer churn for the quarter was 2.1 percent, resulting in new subscriber additions of 40,100 for the quarter.
The wireless carrier also reported 57,000 of its analog customers migrated to digital service during the quarter, bringing the digital portion of its subscriber base to 508,900 subscribers, or 52 percent of its proportionate customer base of 971,300.
Dobson expects to release final first quarter results May 9.
