BEDMINSTER, N.J.-Verizon Wireless said it was testing a cdma2000 1X compatible handset from LG InfoComm U.S.A. Inc. on its field trial network.
The tri-mode handset is WAP-enabled, has full personal information management functionality, a four-way navigation key and utilizes the Tegic T9 text input system and the UP 4.1 WAP browser.
Verizon Wireless plans to begin phasing in commercial 1X services later this year.
