SMYRNA, Ga.-Murata Electronics North America introduced Blue Module, a Bluetooth module the company claims to be the smallest in the world.
Developed using Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramics technology, Murata said its has integrated both active devices and passive components onto a single surface mount ceramic chip supporting USB, Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter and Pulse Code Modulation.
“Not only have we created the world’s smallest and most complete module for wireless technology, but we have simplified the design and layout for the customer,” said Scott Klettke, market segment manager for Murata. “Design engineers no longer have to source and mount several components to achieve the desired solution.”
Murata said its Bluetooth module is available for sampling at $100 each, with sample kits including working modules, evaluation boards and development kit software available for $300.
