LONDON-The wireless division of Marconi has acquired Northwood Technologies, a Canadian wireless telecom software company, in a transaction valued at more than $27 million.
With the acquisition of Northwood software products, including the deciBel Planner, Marconi will be better positioned to address emerging 2.5-generation and third-generation technologies, said Geoff Doy, chief executive officer of Marconi Wireless.
Marconi said it will now also establish a new Strategic Business Unit for wireless network planning headquartered in Ottawa, Canada.
