UXBRIDGE, U.K.-Unisys Ltd. and Airborn, a part of the M-Cell group, are joining to offer mobile Internet service to wireless users.
As per the agreement, Airborn’s Remote Interactive Voice Response will run on the Unisys Communication Application Platform. According to Ross Macdonald, chief executive officer of Airborn, “RIVR allows the mobile-phone user to access information which resides either on a corporate database or on the Internet using existing technology.” Regarding the partnership with Unisys, he added that “[Unisys has] the resources to take RIVR to market and support it as a commercial product.”
The companies also announced the new Unisys Web Short Message Service will be the first output of the agreement.
