Vizario launches software technology for phones, PDAs

SAN CARLOS, Calif.-Vizario Inc. announced a new software technology designed for widespread deployment in mobile phones, personal digital assistants and PCs.

The company said its consumer technology features a client/server publishing tool that allows content carriers, promoters and content providers to distribute media assets to end users through the Vizario client, and works with Java and .NET-enabled handsets. The company also offers a vertical application suite for companies that require distribution of image-intensive data to mobile devices.

“We developed the Vizario solution from the ground up, taking into account issues such as speed, rich media access and ease of use to ensure that users of next-generation mobile devices who access the wireless Web can do so without facing the hurdles that limit the popularity of Web access on wireless devices today,” said James Newcomb, the company’s chief executive officer.

Vizario said it is currently working with wireless handset manufacturing leaders, such as Motorola Inc. and Nokia Corp., to develop customized Vizario solutions for a wide range of mobile devices.
