MONTREAL, Canada—SR Telecom said it signed an agreement to acquire the French assets of Lucent’s fixed wireless division, SWING. Financial terms of the agreement were not released.
The combined companies will have an installed base of equipment in more than 110 countries. Operating from two locations in France, SWING has installed more than 400,000 lines in more than 90 countries.
The agreement provides for SR Telecom to acquire all current customer contracts and existing and active bids, as well as certain other assets relating to the SWING business. The agreement also established SR Telecom as a preferred supplier of fixed wireless access products to Lucent.
“The addition of SWING gives SR Telecom an exceptional platform on which to further grow its business worldwide,” said SR Telecom President and Chief Executive Officer Pierre St-Arnaud.
