Romanian operator announces 1.5 million customers on GSM network

BUCHAREST, Romania—Romanian GSM operator CONNEX announce that it has set the record high number of 1.5 million GSM customers and 100,000 XNET users.
“These milestones are significant in many ways,” said Michele Gaudette, vice president of marketing and sales. “They not only confirm our position as market leader for both voice and data services, but also prove that the demand for new and sophisticated telecommunication services continues to expand in Romania.”
In the next few weeks, CONNEX will be announcing the launch of a number of new services.
“We are pleased to play the leading role in the development of the information and communication industries in Romania and are proud of our achievements,” added Ted Lattimore, president and chief operating officer.
