RED LODGE, Mont.—The ribbon is expected to be cut on Sept. 5 on a new wireless communications tower and building known as the Palisades Project.
The project consolidates wireless radio communications equipment in one facility and allows federal, state and local public-safety officials to share and combine their equipment. The project was described in a statement as “a major step toward improving interoperability in the region.”
Several agencies participated in the Palisades Project including the FBI, the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management and Montana Highway Patrol. Representatives of these organizations and the Montana congressional delegation have been invited to the ribbon-cutting ceremony, according to the announcement.
