Global Wireless evolves into electronic product

DENVER, United States-In an attempt to focus specifically on offering a news service for the international mobile industry, Global Wireless will evolve into a completely electronic product beginning in 2002. The last print issue of the publication will be distributed in mid-November.

The change reflects the results of a recent reader survey, in which the vast majority of respondents requested a weekly news service offering the latest developments in the wireless industry. The electronic format will allow news of interest to be distributed in a timely, efficient medium around the world.

“An electronic format lends itself to an international publication,” said Global Wireless Publisher John Sudmeier. “With the new medium, we can offer our readers exactly what they want and what we can best deliver-timely news covering the international mobile industry organized by geographic region.” Global Wireless subscribers can register on the publication’s Web site at www.globalwirelessnews.com for free weekly e-mail alerts that include news of interest to the global wireless industry. Subscribers can choose to receive news from a specific region or regions or opt to receive worldwide updates.

Analysis of the week’s most important stories are also included on the Web site, along with subscriber and carrier information currently included in the publication’s carrier charts, and archives of past stories, both from the print and electronic versions of Global Wireless. The site also offers opinion pieces, articles from the print edition, a calendar of events and staff details and contacts.
