Sendo to use PacketVideo software in GPRS smart phone

LONDON—U.K. mobile-phone maker Sendo today announced it will use PacketVideo Corp.’s mobile multimedia player software as the streaming video application base for the company’s new Z100 GPRS smart phone.
The Z100 is Sendo’s first data phone and is based on Microsoft Corp.’s smart phone operating system, Stinger.
“Our aim is to deliver on the needs of today’s mobile operators. Based on feedback from them on how we can help them to increase their revenues, we believe that services such as video will help drive consumer usage over the GSM and 2.5G networks,” said Hugh Brogan, chief executive officer of Sendo. “Together with PacketVideo, we can offer our mobile operator customers an integrated software services and phone package which offers rich mobile multimedia features over 2.5G networks.”
