WASHINGTON—A New York bankruptcy court denied the Federal Communications Commission’s request to postpone NextWave Telecom Inc.’s motion to schedule a confirmation hearing in its plans to emerge from bankruptcy, which was set for Oct. 30.
Federal bankruptcy judge Adlai Hardin noted that delaying the confirmation process would harm NextWave’s attempt to continue to build out its wireless network. Judge Hardin also found the FCC failed to establish it would be harmed by allowing the confirmation process to continue.
