Nokia expects 4Q drop

NEW YORK—Nokia Corp. said its third quarter earnings will match its earlier expectations, but its sales for the quarter will drop due to delays in new network rollouts.

Sales will be about 5 percent lower than a year ago, Nokia now predicts. But the company said earnings-per-share should be in line with earlier guidance of about 12.6 to 14.4 cents.

According to analysts, even if Nokia meets its third quarter expectations, fourth quarter losses are likely as the economy continues to falter.
