AMTA joins forces with the Licensing Assistance Office to create two-way dealer council

WASHINGTON—The American Mobile Telecommunications Association and the Licensing Assistance Office have entered into a strategic alliance to effectively represent and promote the interests of independent two-way radio dealers, AMTA announced on Wednesday.

LAO, based in Gettysburg, Pa., is a membership organization that provides licensing and spectrum research services to business dealers and operators.

“AMTA has always been an advocate for small business in wireless communications. Our partnership with LAO will forge and enhance the vision to give independent two-way radio dealers a critical business, regulatory and political voice,” said AMTA President Alan Shark.

“AMTA is the most logical place for this partnership. Under the AMTA banner, the united radio dealers will have the unique opportunity to represent a responsible and credible voice which will substantially influence the future of their industry,” said LAO President George Daigneault.

AMTA will create a dealer council as part of the strategic alliance. AMTA will hold its first Alliance for Independent Radio Dealers Council meeting at its trade show scheduled for Nov. 12-13 in Miami.
