PRAGUE, Czech Republic—The Czech Republic will issue three Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) licenses instead of the originally planned four, and it postponed the deadline for the tender until 30 November, according to international press reports. Incumbent operators EuroTel and RadioMobil were the only companies indicating they would pay the US$181.6 million price set by the government.
The country’s third operator, Cesky Mobil, said it would wait for better conditions before deciding on its participation.
