PHOENIX—Space Data Corp. said it was the high bidder on more than 1.4 MHz of nationwide Narrowband PCS spectrum in the 900 MHz band in the Federal Communication Commission’s most recent auction.
The company paid about $4.2 million for the licenses after small business and tribal land bidding credits.
Space Data will use the spectrum to offer wireless communications services to rural areas and current coverage holes across the United States using a unique weather-balloon system. The company plans to operate as a “carrier’s carrier.”
