STOCKHOLM, Sweden—Ericsson said it won a US$26 million contract to further expand the GSM network operated by Bahrain Telecommunications Company (Batelco), including an upgrade to General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) and Enhanced Data Rates for Global Evolution (EDGE) trials.
Ericsson will provide the equipment, software and services for the expansion and upgrade. The network will expand to accommodate more than 400,000 subscribers.
