Intrado announces business expansion plans

BOULDER, Colo.—Intrado Inc. said it plans to expand its business into commercial data management and announced a recently formed partnership this week.

The company plans to enter commercial data management by developing a National Repository Line Level Database, which it said will improve customer billing and record maintenance for telecommunications. The solution will be delivered by mid-2002, Intrado said.

In addition, Wherify Wireless Inc. has selected Intrado’s Emergency Call Relay Center to answer, process and route Wherify’s GPS Personal Locator emergency call traffic to the nearest public safety answering point. Wherify’s device, a wrist-worn wireless locator, aimed at parents who want to keep track of their children, is slated to hit the market by year end.
