HELSINKI, Finland—Nokia won a contract from Vodafone Hungary as its sole supplier for a General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) network. The system is expected to be operational in December.
Nokia is Vodafone Hungary’s sole GSM supplier as well.
Allgon reports job cuts
TABY, Sweden—Allgon announced its Business Area Allgon Systems, which develops radio-based solutions for wireless communications, intends to cut 99 jobs in its Taby and Solna, Sweden, units.
Allgon said the layoffs, which will mainly affect production, administration and other staff functions, are being made to achieve more efficient organization and will add up to a yearly savings of more than US$6.6 million.
